測試軟體除了最佳化程度這變數,產品本身設定、調校策略確實也會帶來一定影響。

Intel 延續前兩周淺談的真實性能議題,進一步談論更多內部性能測試、分析結果,除了原本的 H 系列行動處理器,還納入 U 系列行動處理器、S 系列桌上型處理器等產品。

他們上次所提及 H 系列行動處理器,是以 Core i7-10750H(Lenovo Y7000 2020 年版)與 AMD Ryzen 7 4800H(Lenovo R7000 2020 年版)對陣,這回還加入配備 Core i5-10300H 的雙生機種 Lenovo Y7000 2020 年版,可留意 Core i5 只有 4C / 8T 架構。而這 3 款雙生機種,配備 Core i5-10300H 的 Y7000 2020 年版,價位上和 R7000 2020 年版更為接近。

Intel 表示,無可否認在 Cinebench R15 / R20 MT、3DMark Physics 等少數測試範例上,Ryzen 7 4800H 表現是優於自家 H 系列行動處理器。然而實際用來玩遊戲時,即便是 Core i5-10300H 也有不少扳倒 Ryzen 7 4800H 的機會,所準備另一範例為 Core i5-9300H 對上 Ryzen 7 3750H。

此外 Intel 進行了時脈、核心數量測試,指出多數遊戲當處理器時脈從 3.0GHz 提升至 4.0GHz,可獲取 20% 以上的效能增益,從 4.0GHz 提升至 5.0GHz 則有 10% 以上。然而核心數量的影響,四核心升級至六核心為 10% 以上,六核心與八核心則縮小到 2% 以上,到了十核心更只有 1.5% 以上。

這牽動遊戲對於多核心的最佳化程度,基於諸如此類因素,Intel 於設計、規劃產品時,盡可能在時脈與核心數量之間取得平衡點。

至於 U 系列行動處理器,Intel 是找來 HP Envy x360 雙生機,Envy x360 15t 配備 Core i7-1065G7(4C / 8T、超頻時脈 3.9GHz)、Core i5-1035G1(4C / 8T、超頻時脈 3.6GHz),而 Envy x360 15z 是配備 AMD Ryzen 7 4700U (8C / 8T、超頻時脈 4.1GHz)。

針對這主流應用定位處理器,Intel 進行電源管理試驗,分析、研究在辦公室等應用情境下,電池續航力與性能的變化。Intel 方面認為,配備 Ryzen 7 4700U 這個範例組合,在電池供電狀態下似乎刻意降低時脈,藉此減少功耗進而延長電池續航力。反觀 Intel 平台版本,無論使用電池或連接市電,其時脈與性能差距相對較小。

因此 Intel 平台版本於電池供電模式下,在辦公應用測試表現能拉開更大差距,即便是 Core i5-1035G1 也能優於 Ryzen 7 4700U 相當幅度,例如信件合併分別快上 67%、56%、Excel 圖貼到 Word 分別達 38%、30%。除此之外,Intel 這兩款 Ice Lake 處理器具備 DL Boost 等技術機能,得以在 Nero AI Photo Tagger 等 AI 應用軟體上發揮出相當效益。

在活動尾聲,Intel 稍微帶到 S 系列桌上型處理器,以 Core i7-10700K(8C / 16T、超頻時脈 5.1GHz)對上 AMD Ryzen 9 3900X(12C / 24T、超頻時脈 4.6GHz)為例,所搭配顯示卡為 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti。Intel 指出,30 款熱門遊戲其中 24 款,Core i7-10700K 取得效能領先優勢,尤以 Total War:Warhammer 2 畫面張數高出 23% 最為顯著,而且參考價格也比對手產品便宜超過 100 美元。

不過這次還是沒能讓媒體親眼見、動手試,因為測試作業並非由台灣分公司主導,要將樣品機從國外寄送來台灣進行展示,一些報關瑣碎程序難免讓人望之卻步(電池、無線裝置等有不同法規限制)。無論如何,這也確實值得加以思索,極少數幾樣跑分數據與多面向(或說真實日常應用)表現,何者為之重要。
