AMD 在 9 月 20 日晚間釋出訊息提到，AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 這顆 16 核心的處理器將會與第 3 代 Ryzen Threadripper 處理器一併在 11 月上市；推遲上市的原因相當簡單，主要是因為目前產能可能無法滿足市場所需。

16 核心 32 執行緒的 Ryzen 9 3950X TDP 為 105W，這款處理器基本時脈為 3.5GHz，而 Boost Clock 部分可以達到 4.7GHz。
就定義來看，AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 會與 Intel X299 晶片組 Cascade Lake-X 直接對抗，但在售價部分，749 美元的 Ryzen 9 3950X 似乎具有些優勢在，只是加入 PCIe 和記憶體通道數的話，Intel 的 Cascade Lake-X 還是要強悍些許。
